Last night, the Los Angeles Dodgers made Manny Ramirez a new offer that was reported as one year at $25 million dollars.
The philosophy behind the move was that Manny Ramirez would get the $25 million annual salary that he was looking for in 2009, and then he could try his luck again in free agency next off season, when hopefully the economy is improved.
There's a catch though. Scott Boras and Manny Ramirez had 48 hours to accept the deal.

Do the Dodgers move on? Are Manny and Boras so insulted by the tactic that they close the door on the Dodgers? Don't bet on that one... Boras never closes doors on anyone.
It's quite a paradox when you consider that the Dodgers have been the only team that has tendered any offers to Ramirez this off season. Clearly, the Dodgers have made their intentions clear about wanting Manny Ramirez to return. They have been very patient, but is that patience wearing thin?
