Sporting News staff reports When asked whether Seattle has interest in pursuing soon-to-be free-agent outfielder/DH Hideki Matsui, Mariners general manager Jack Zduriencik told the New York Daily News that he wouldn't comment on other teams' free agents. The Mariners, though, have been linked to Matsui, the World Series MVP who hit .274 with 28 homers and 90 RBIs for the Yankees this season, because of a possible pairing with right fielder Ichiro Suzuki. Meanwhile, the New York Daily News also reported Zduriencik downplayed interest in trading ace right-hander Felix Hernandez. "Certainly we'll dot our Is and cross our Ts, but where we stand right now is that he's an integral part of what we're doing," Zduriencik said.
