Rookie Trayvon Robinson snapped a tie with a two-run single in the seventh inning as the Seattle Mariners handed the Minnesota Twins their 11th consecutive loss with a 5-4 road triumph on Wednesday.
Trevor Plouffe had three hits and scored twice for Minnesota (59-95), which is mired in its longest skid since dropping 14 in a row from May 19-June 2, 1982. The Twins need to win four of their final eight games to avoid the second 100-loss season in team history.
Kevin Slowey (0-7) suffered yet another hard-luck loss. After failing to allow a hit over 5 2/3 innings, Slowey began to unravel. He permitted five runs on six hits to take the loss.
