In August Felix Hernandez had a perfect game August 15th against the Rays, and now he gets the American League Pitcher of the Month honor.

During his nearly perfect month Hernandez went 4-0 with a 1.08 ERA in five starts.


Hernandez won three 1-0 shutouts in the month.

He also went 7 2/3 innings in a 5-1 victory over the Indians and received a no-decision against the Angels in Anaheim when he gave up four earned runs and five hits in seven innings.


Hernandez's award makes back-to-back AL Pitchers of the Month for Seattle, with Jason Vargas earning July honors.
