The Seattle Mariners agreed to a minor league contract with veteran lefthander Oliver Perez.
The 30-year-old Perez spent last season with the Washington Nationals' Double-A affiliate in Harrisburg, Pa.
He was signed by the Nationals in March 2011 after the Mets released the erratic lefty despite having one year and $12 million left on his contract.
Perez went 3-9 with an ERA hovering around 6.80 in his final two seasons with the Mets. He allowed 100 walks in 112 1/3 innings during that span.
For his career, Perez owns a record of 58-69 with an ERA of 4.63.
