The offensive woes dragged on for the Miami Marlins on Friday as they lost their sixth consecutive game.  This time around it was a 5-0 decision for the Arizona Diamondbacks.   As has been the theme as of late, Miami was given a quality start from their starter but was unable to put together any offense.   The loss dropped the Marlins to 7-12 on the season.

Carlos Zambrano was not at his best and threw a lot of pitches early on but managed to give the Marlins six innings.  Arizona put together ten hits and three runs against Zambrano who fell to 0-2 on the year.    The veteran labored throwing 100 pitches in his six innings before Mike Dunn took over in the seventh.   Dunn continued to have issues allowing two hits before being lifted in favor of Ryan Webb.    The news wasn’t much better for Webb as he gave up two more runs to make the deficit that much more insurmountable.

As has been the case for the duration of the losing streak, hits were hard to come by as the Marlins had a total of three hits in the game.      All three hits were singles off Joe Saunders who went the distance.    Emilio Bonifacio, Omar Infante and Gaby Sanchez had a hit each while Hanley Ramirez extended his slump to no hits in his last 23 at-bats.  Jose Reyes took the game off but is expected to be back in the lineup in the next game.

On Saturday the Marlins will once again try and snap the skid when they send Anibal Sanchez to the mound to take on Ian Kennedy.
