Found June 20, 2012 on Bloody Sox:
Los-angeles-angels-boston
By SBRForum.com The Miami Marlins, maybe the streakiest team in baseball this season, will be looking to reverse their recent fortunes, and those of us who have been backing them with our MLB picks, when they begin an interleague series with the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park Tuesday night. Miami went 8-14 in April, then 21-8 in May, but is just 4-11 so far in June, after dropping two of three games in Tampa over the weekend. So the Fish, at 33-33, have now sunk to six games behind the first-place Nationals in the NL East. Much of that recent dive can be attributed to a suddenly-punchless Marlins offense that’s scored a total of 21 runs over its last 12 games. Boston, meanwhile, just took two of three games from the Cubs in Chicago to get back to .500, also at 33-33. But the Sox still sit eight games off the pace in the AL East. Last week the Sox went down to Miami and took two of three games from the Marlins. Tuesday’s starting pitchers, Mark Buehrle and Clay Buchholz, squared off ...

Clay Buchholz Battles Without Best Stuff, Hangs On For Win

Editor's note: NESN.com is going to tell the story of the 2012 Red Sox in Bobby Valentine’s words. Each game day, we will select the best Valentine quote that sums up the day for the Red Sox. Clay Buchholz clearly did not have his best stuff Tuesday night In start contrast with his previous four outings, in which he gave up just five earned runs in 31 innings of work, Buchholz...

Red Sox HIT Their Way Over 500!

Clay Buchholz didn't have his best game, however he got enough run support to have the Sox still go back one game over 500 by beating the Marlins.  Let's hope it stays that way and only gets better from here.  The Sox won with a barrage of 3 HRs. Clay Buchholz said he didn't want to pitch on Sunday because he wanted the extra rest.  It doesn't look like it did...

Can Felix Doubront Win 20 Games This Season?

At several points in time so far this season -- certainly more than anyone was anticipating -- it has been fairly clear that Felix Doubront was the best and most consistent starting pitcher on the Red Sox. While Josh Beckett, Jon Lester and Clay Buchholz scuffled and tried to find their way back to success, Doubront was providing surprising stability from the most unlikley of places...

Red Sox Live Blog: Felix Doubront Looking to Hold Marlins in Check for Second Straight Outing

8 a.m. ET: The Red Sox (34-33) have returned to their winning ways above .500. They'll look to maintain that momentum when Felix Doubront takes the mound against the Marlins (33-34) just one week after beating them. Last time around, Doubront dazzled, giving up two runs over seven innings. This time, Doubront owns a 7-3 record with a 4.17 ERA entering the game. The lefty will...

Recap: Red Sox and Marlins trade punches, Sox prevail

(Photo by Jim Rogash/Getty Images) This was nothing close to the duel between Buehrle and Buchholz from last week. The Marlins struck first, but the Red Sox threw the last punch and came out on top with the 7-5 victory. I expected another pitchers duel after the last meeting these two pitchers had exactly a week ago. Instead each offense figured these guys out and started the scoring...

David Ortiz hit his 17th homer and Clay Buchholz won his fourth straight start as the Boston Red Sox beat the Miami Marlins 7-5 on Tuesday night for their fifth win in six games. Cody Ross, activated from the disabled list before the game, and Kelly Shoppach also homered as Buchholz (8-2) benefited again from a strong hitting attack. He entered the game with the second-best support...

Everything Was HOT for the Sox Last Night Verses Marlins

On the hottest day of the season so far at Fenway Park, the ball seemed to be flying out of the park and that added to the Red Sox offense hitting, hitting and hitting their way to a win over the struggling Marlins.  The Sox scored 15 runs, Felix Doubront got his 8th win of the season and the Sox went 2 games over 500.  Oh and every other team in the AL East lost last night too...

Marlins visit Fenway Park

Marlins visit Fenway Park Tuesday June 19, 2012- Miami Marlins visit Fenway Park to begin a 3 game series against the Boston Red Sox. The two teams met earlier last week in which the Sox took 2 games away from the Marlins. The pitching matchup for tonight’s game is exactly the same as a week ago; Clay Buchholz vs. Mark Buehrle take the mound in tonight’s opening game. The Marlins...

Back In The High Life Again

The Red Sox are officially out of the basement! Big Papi is on the best stuff money can buy and just absolutely mashing the ball. Mike Aviles is the best shortstop since Nomar. Felix Doubront is one of the most consistent pitchers in the league. The offense has finally woken up. The Yankees and Orioles are in the beginning stages of what are hopefully terrible losing streaks. Jacoby...

Marlins rely on Nolasco against Red Sox

Tune into FOX Sports Florida at 6:30 p.m. to watch the Miami Marlins take on the Boston Red Sox. The Boston Red Sox would be satisfied if the venue is the only thing different for Felix Doubront in this week's start against Miami. They'd be devastated if Dustin Pedroia aggravated the same thumb injury he suffered last month. Facing the sputtering Marlins for the second...
