Could the D-Backs trade a big name in the winter?

The Diamondbacks may look to move Aaron Hill, Martin Prado, or Gerardo Parra this winter. Or so says ESPN.com’s Buster Olney in a blog he posted this morning. His entire post was based on conjecture looking at contracts, minor league replacements, and team standing, so don’t throw yourself off a cliff yet if you’re Parra’s biggest fan or own four Hill jerseys.

D-Backs’ Joe Muñoz and Brandon Sinnery earn monthly honors

Every month, the Diamondbacks honor a position player and a pitcher at every level of the minors with a Player and Pitcher of the Month award. They then pick one of each as the overall top players throughout the minor league system. In July, those two winners are Joe  Muñoz and Brandon Sinnery.

D-backs' Thatcher the consummate specialist

PHOENIX -- Joe Thatcher set a school record for 3-point shooting in high school, which goes a long way toward explaining his success as a major league reliever. The theory is the same, whether it is putting a ball in a basket or putting a smaller ball on the outside corner."It's all about repetition and having the confidence that when the ball leaves your hand, it is going...

Rays' Matt Moore could return by mid-August

If all goes well, the Tampa Bay Rays fifth-ranked starting pitching staff could get another boost in the next couple weeks.  Matt Moore has been making progress with his rehab program and should move on to throwing from a mound very soon.  In fact, Moore played catch from 70 feet yesterday which would mean he is on pace for a weekend mound session. #Rays Moore played catch...

Presenting 2013′s Surprising Top Two Pitch-Framers

In the beginning, there was Jose Molina. For real though, he’s really old. Molina hung around, and then baseball was invented, and then people figured out how to measure catcher pitch-framing, and then, initially, Molina really shined. Molina’s numbers blew everyone else’s out of the water, and so Molina became something of a cult favorite, and so on and so forth. You know...

But thanks to a stellar defense the Diamondbacks pulled out a come-from-behind 9-8 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays in front of 18733 at Chase...
