Marvin Miller, the former Executive Director for the MLB Players Association, as well as sports media legend Dick Schaap, ESPN Sportscenter anchor and ESPN.com columnist Linda Cohn, and four others including Ed Block, Gary Gubner, Andre Tippet, and Dara Torres will be inducted into the Jewish Sports Hall of Fame on April 29. The induction ceremony will take place at 11am. The former Executive Director of the Major League Baseball Players Association, Miller is one of the most influential people in the history of baseball. From 1966-1982, Miller developed the MLBPA into one of the strongest unions in America. Among his accomplishments were the negotiations of the first collective bargaining agreement, the use of arbitration in contract negotiations, and the increase to the minimum player salaries from $19,000 to $241,000.
