Found June 19, 2012 on Larry Brown Sports:
Pitchers Mat Latos and Derek Lowe opposed each other for the second time in a week, and much like their last game, a controversy ensued. The Indians beat the Reds 10-9 on Monday in the first of a three-game series in Cleveland, and Latos thinks some funny business was going on. The Reds starter got hammered for seven runs including three home runs over four innings, and he implied after the game that Indians base runners were relaying signs from second to the batter. “I was a little up in the zone. I thought I made some good pitches that they spit on with a runner on second base. I suppose it was kind of ironic. We changed up the signs, for the last hitter unfortunately,” Latos told the media, unprompted, according to Jordan Bastian of MLB.com. “The outcome changed when we changed up the signs today. “I’m going to go back and look at video. A couple [times with] runners on second base, they put better swings on the ball than they did most of the time without a runner on second b...

Game 56: Reds 9, Indians 10

Last night’s game for me was like Las Vegas: exhaustingly active but ultimately disappointing. The Reds dropped the first of the series with the Indians 9-10. Mat Latos took the mound and was just terrible. In 4.0 innings pitched he allowed 7 runs (earned) on 8 hits, including 3 home runs. Before the game Chris Welsh and George Grande were talking about how Latos could eventually...

Video: Arroyo, Chapman singing 'Red Hooded Sweatshirt'

Your browser does not support iframes. Okay, so I know I may be a bit late to the party in posting this, but if you haven't seen it yet, you're welcome. Seen here are Bronson Arroyo and Aroldis Chapman (aka - The Cuban Missile) collaborating to create a hilarious musical piece entitled "Red Hooded Sweatshirt". The two took the time to shoot the footage...

Perez, Kipnis shine on MLB network

Cleveland closer Chris Perez was on Intentional Talk on the MLB Network yesterday talking about Cleveland fans, the Bullpen Mafia, and his normal routine. He was confronted by the video of him throwing up after the game. Interestingly enough, he admitted that after he gave up the hit to Freese, he almost lost it out of his nose. Classic. A really good watch actually. Jason Kipnis...

Votto gets 1M All-Star votes this week

It’s All-Star vote status report day: my favorite days in June! Joey Votto increased his lead over the second-place vote getter in the first base field. The person he’s beating has changed, though. Freddie Freeman of the Braves has overtaken Lance Berkman of the Cardinals for second place. But whereas Votto had 2.47 times as many votes as Berkman last Tuesday, he has 2.64 times...

Indians 3, Reds 2(10)

Asdrubal Cabrera hit a two-run homer with one out in the 10th inning off hard-throwing Aroldis Chapman to give the Cleveland Indians a 3-2 win over the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday night. Cabrera drove a 3-1 pitch from Chapman (4-3) into the seats in right field. The second homer allowed this season by the left-hander scored Shin-Soo Choo, who had reached on a one-out single up the...

Cueto overcomes dizziness to spin a gem

Johnny Cueto pitched pretty well Sunday for a guy who looked as if he might not make it out of the third inning. The Cincinnati Reds right-hander was set to throw his second pitch of the inning when he stopped and motioned catcher Ryan Hanigan out to the mound. Manager Dusty Baker, pitching coach Bryan Price and trainer Paul Lessard later came out to the mound. Cueto continued...

Indians fan goes nuts after missing home run ball (GIF)

A Cleveland Indians fan in the outfield stands went nuts after missing out on a home run ball during Tuesday night's game against the Cincinnati Reds. We don't have the full details about the home run itself (although we know it was one of the Indians that hit it), but this animated GIF was too good not to pass along. We will send out an update with more information as...

Bronson Arroyo and Aroldis Chapman cover Adam Sandler song (Video)

It’s good to be in first place. The Cincinnati Reds are sitting atop the NL Central and seem to be enjoying it, as pitchers Bronson Arroyo and Aroldis Chapman showed us when they recreated some old school Adam Sandler magic (before Adam Sandler sucked). Arroyo made decent work of “The Red Headed Sweatshirt Song“, but Chapman deserves an Oscar for his effort. Shamalama ding...

The ongoing feud between...

GIFcap: Umpire trips over Carlos Santana, falls flat on his face

Subtle heel move by Carlos Santana to foil the umpire. Then he pretends to care about what he just did. What an evil man

Most Valuable Votto

To thundering chants of “MVP! MVP! MVP!” no one in the MLB does more with less.   When Joey Votto steps to the plate, taking his customary glance into a distant empty seat before settling into the left-hand batter’s box, one truth seems inevitable to the fans of Cincinnati –something great is about to happen. To a city that hasn’t witnessed a playoff victory since 1995...
