Mauer lands in New York, greeted by early Yankee speculation

You knew this was coming. Joe Mauer(notes) arrives in New York on Wednesday and — despite an ALDS to be played and another legally-binding year with the Twins — is greeted by questions about his contract situation and if he'd like to ever play for the Yankees?OK, so it was just a few questions the Big Apple media threw his way — they do it to almost every soon-to-be free agent — but I'm sure if there were a Cerebro for Yankees fans, the collective brainwave would have shown an image of Mauer in pinstripes any time he walked to the plate for Minnesota during the Yankees' 7-2 victory in Game 1.
