COLUMBUS- The Clippers came back from the All-Star break well-rested defeating the Lehigh Valley Ironpigs 3-2. Columbus was able to consistently stay on the board, while the Ironpigs couldn’t seem to find their swing until it was too late.
Zach McAllister continued his rehab stint, taking the mound for the Clippers Thursday night. McAllister pitched six scoreless innings, giving up two hits to the Ironpigs, and was rewarded with the win for his efforts.
The Clippers jumped on the board first in the third inning. Roberto Perez hit a double to center field with one out, than advanced to third on an error. Center fielder Tim Fedroff followed with a walk, placing runners on the corners. Ezequiel Carrera came up with a sacrifice fly to center field, scoring Perez to take the lead 1-0.
