The Mets look to win five in a row tonight as they take on the Pirates for game 2. Last night Davis knocked two out of the park as he hit the 30 homer mark for the season. He and the rest of the Mets offense (although the Pirates starter is left handed, so I guess that means Davis gets the bench today?) look to back up Collin McHugh who is 0-2 in 5 games and 3 starts on the season with a 3.86 ERA while pitching 18.2 innings and striking out 14 batters. Collin hasn’t pitched against the Pirates yet in his career and no one on the Pirates roster has stats against McHugh.
Wandy Rodriguez is 11-13 on the season while pitching in 32 games making 31 starts over 193.2 innings with a

Dickey Only One Win Away From Pitching’s Triple Crown!
In Saturday’s 4-3 win over the Marlins, R.A. Dickey delivered another spectacular performance for the Mets and improved his record to 19-6 while lowering his ERA to a league leading 2.66 for the season.
Dickey became the fifth pitcher in franchise history to win 19 games, throw 220 innings and strikeout 200 or more in a single season, joining the elite company of Tom Seaver,...
Check It Out…a Bright Spot in the Mets Season!
Last night Ike Davis slugged two homers to give him 30 for the year. He is the first Met to reach that mark since Citi Field opened back in 2009.
In a season that has gone from nothing but positives to nothing but negatives, a few Mets players have a chance for some pretty cool personal milestones. We’ve all been watching R.A. Dickey as he might win the Mets first Cy Young...
Wright Becomes All-Time Hits Leader, Mets Win 6-0
David Wright broke the Mets all-time hits record, and Jeremy Hefner pitched seven scoreless innings in the Mets 6-0 win
Jeremy Hefner came out of the gate and had his game plan in full swing, dispatching hitters quickly and coaxing weak contact at any given chance. As opposed to Tuesday night when Colin McHugh was hit hard, Hefner was the polar opposite, striking out seven in seven...
Finishing Strong Could Give Mets Momentum For 2013
David Wright was in full salvage mode yesterday, both from a team and individual perspective, After a blazing first half in which he carried the Mets, he’s fallen off dramatically and with his fall so has his team.
There have been numerous times during the Mets’ dreadful second half when they could have turned things around, but failed.
Now mathematically eliminated and after...
Wright has multiple rbi game : Mets plate 6 and lose.
Great seeing the Mets finally have some life in them. Of course its meaningless but hey its a lot better then it was just a week ago. The Mets were down 4 going into the bottom of the first and scored 3 runs. Back to back home runs from Turner and Wright. This back to back was the first time all year. Wright, who has looked down right exhausted, even contributed another hit and 2 rbi’s later in
