Jenrry Mejia had a rough outing last night against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, leading to a Bisons 6-0 loss. Mejia, making his final Triple-A start of the season, was looking to bounce back off a rough start on August 27, when he gave up five runs in six innings against Rochester. Well, he didn’t bounce back so well. It all got started for Mejia in the first inning, when he really got roughed up. He allowed three RBI-singles and a total of four runs. In total, he allowed five hits in the inning. Mejia would get hit again in the fifth when Cory Overbeck hit another RBI single, his second in the game, to drive in four runs and give the IronPigs a 6-0 lead. Mejia left the game after allowing six runs on 11 hits over six innings. One positive that can be taken from this outing is it wasn’t the control that was giving Mejia problems. He threw 66 of 99 pitches for strikes and didn’t walk a batter. This is not the way he wanted to head into his September callup, but this isn’t a huge deal...
