The injury to Melvin Mora appears to be more serious than first thought.
Mora suffered the injury when his car was hit from behind in the Phoenix area on Monday. The veteran has been experiencing whiplash and neck soreness since the accident two days ago. At first, it appeared that he was going to be day-to-day for precautionary reasons, but now it is being reported that he will be out at least a week. Mora was hitting .214 during the spring before the injury took place.
At first glance, Mora’s injury means more at-bats for Geoff Blum. So far this spring, Blum has four hits in 17 at-bats. He has yet to hit a home run or drive in a run, but his lack of production shouldn’t be a conce...
