Jeremy Bonderman has been suspended 3 games for intentionallyhitting Delmon Young of the Twins in knee on Thursday.
Discipline has been issued to four members of the Detroit Tigers and one member of the Minnesota Twins as a result of the on-field incidents that occurred during the Thursday, October 1st game between the clubs at Comerica Park. Bob Watson, Vice President of On-Field Operations for Major League Baseball, made the announcement.
Tigers pitcher Jeremy Bonderman has been suspended for three games and fined an undisclosed amount for intentionally throwing at Minnesota’s Delmon Young during the top of the ninth inning after a warning had been issued to both clubs during the bottom of the eighth inning. Bonderman’s suspension had been scheduled to begin tonight, when the Tigers host the Chicago White Sox, but he has chosen to file an appeal. Thus, his suspension will be held in abeyance until the process is complete.
