Prior to game 5, The New York Knicks had all the reasons to believe that tonight was the night they would end the reigns of the Pierce and Garnett saga. They even got dressed up for it, in all BLACK, treating tonight’s game like it was a funeral for the Boston Celtics. Only problem is the Celtics are much alive. It has been well-known that the closeout game is the hardest game to win and the Knicks are now realizing that Pierce and Garnett aren’t going away quietly. That’s the difference between a champion and a pretender. The Knicks right now are pretenders as they have let opportunities get away from them in the last two games . The Celtics are playing loose basketball and come Friday night they will have the whole state of Massachusetts on their side. It was mention that the possibility of a remake from the 2004 ALCS between the Red Sox vs.Yankees could come into play. The Yankees were up 3-0 in the series but wasn’t able to close out the Red Sox. If Game 6 turns out victorious for the Celtics, can you imagine how tight the Knicks sphincters will be as they will have enormous pressure to win Game 7. Remember when the Knicks thought it was cute to wear all BLACK. Just imagine if they lose this series…… The whole state of New York maybe attending the KNICKS funeral, the players and coaches that is.
Jamal Crawford get into some smack talking with Raymond Felton. Jamal didn’t play a minute and already in the head of Felton going into game 6.

After receiving a suspension for game four of the Knicks/Celtics playoff series, many New York fans blamed J.R. Smith for his team's loss last weekend. After missing his first ten shots of game five, Smith only started to pick up the pace in the later minutes of the contest. By then, it was too late for him to help the Knicks escape a 92-86 loss. Thus, there are plenty of Knicks...
If you happen to be looking for hard-hitting interviews with New York Knicks players, then all you have to do is call on the Knicks kid reporters to get down to the nitty-gritty. Recently, the Knicks released two videos which star kid reporters Ryan and Jaylah asking some hard-hitting questions about player hairstyles and the goatee of head coach Mike Woodson: If I learned anything...
New York Knicks guard Jason Kidd has become the first player to win back-to-back NBA sportsmanship awards.
Kidd received 91 first-place votes from league players and 2,474 total points Tuesday to claim the Joe Dumars Trophy in his first season in New York. He won the award last season, his final one in Dallas.
Three-time winner Grant Hill is only other player to win the award multiple...
Jordan Crawford had another infamous DNP (Did Not Play, Coaches’ Decision), but he was running his mouth like he was Floyd Mayweather.
After the Knicks choked away Game 5, things got a little chippy as the teams left the court.
Now either Crawford said “MF F*ck Off or MF F*cked Your Wife”.
This is important because of the whole Kevin Garnett Honey Nut Cheerios situation last...
Dear J.R. Smith and Kenyon Martin,
Thanks for being complete overconfident, obnoxious idiots. Thanks for saying the stupidest things in the media. Thanks for whatever that did to your team tonight.
I want to specifically call out and thank J.R. Smith, the most generous of them all. Smith bemoaned earlier that the Knicks would've won Game 4 if he was not suspended...
Having waited longer than he should have, the stink of his performance still lingering at Madison Square Garden, Carmelo Anthony appeared at last clad in black and wearing a smile as false and empty as his game.
The black stood for a funeral, but not the kind he and his tacky teammates had anticipated. It was a funeral for the idea Anthony has shed his postseason underachiever&...
The Knicks are not making brash claims anymore. J.R. Smith has silenced himself a bit since he boldly proclaimed that the Knicks’ series against the Celtics would be over if he had played in Game 4, and Kenyon Martin is not saying much of anything after telling his teammates to show up for Game 5 dressed in black for the Celtics’ funeral.
Once confident to the level of almost...
Every Wednesday at Turn On The Knicks our staff will debate an issue of the week surrounding the team here in Roundtable Format. Make sure to give everybody a follow on Twitter, along with follow the site right here. Let us know if you agree/disagree.
Give your prediction for when the Knicks will finish off the Celtics, who they will play in the second round and how that series...
It’s the NBA playoffs so everything is major. Following a skirmish at the end of Wednesday night’s Celtics vs. Knicks. Celts reserve Jordan Crawford could be seen talking sh*t to Carmelo Anthony. There are several people who graduated from lip reading 101 believe that Crawford said something to the effect of “my homeboy fu*ked your wife.” The jury is still out on that but...
Tempers flared following the Celtics 92-86 win over the Knicks on Wednesday night as Jordan Crawford, Carmelo Anthony, D.J. White and Raymond Felton exchanged words. Crawford appeared to trash talk Carmelo Anthony on his way to the locker room which caused a reaction from Felton and White who then had to be restrained by teammates.
It's pretty clear why Knicks forward Kenyon Martin was upset after the game last night. This is the Playoffs and every team wants to win, but if you're going to talk trash all week it's best if you back it up. The Knicks clearly didn't back up any of theirs.
Here JR Smith has a few words about the scuffle after the final buzzer.
The 2004 Yankees will tell you how easy it is for a playoff series to get away from you. I vividly remember the cover of the sports section of the NYTimes on the day of game 4 against the Red Sox and there were brooms all over it, as they approached a sweep. Just a few days later, the Yankees were eliminated by their long-time rival, and before they knew it, the curse of the Bambino...
What the Celtics have needed all season is to come together as a team, to move the ball and make the most of their talent, to not fall into ruts where other teams can feast on their weaknesses.
For many stretches this year, the Celtics could not do that. Then, even after they discovered how to play in such a way after losing Rajon Rondo to a season-ending injury, they stumbled again...
Jason Kidd has won the 2012-13 NBA Sportsmanship award.
Kidd won the award, which is given to a player who demonstrates ethical behavior, fair play and integrity, last season as well.
Luol Deng, Stephen Curry, Mike Conley, Nick Collison and Jameer Nelson were also nominated for the award.
Knicks fans are hysterical. So boastful and full of themselves at the beginning and all their players are the best ever. They start losing the game and all their players are all losers and should be cut. And when all else fails, blame the refs. Pretty much, the officiating wasn't all that bad in this game. The Knicks shot 3 more free throws than the Celtics...
