Ike Davis hit a three-run homer, Andres Torres also connected and the New York Mets beat the Phillies 10-6 Wednesday night to complete their first three-game sweep in Philadelphia in six years.
The Mets rallied to win all three against slumping Philadelphia. They trailed after five innings against Roy Halladay on Monday, after six against Joe Blanton on Tuesday and after six against Cliff Lee in the series finale.
The five-time defending NL East champions are a season-worst four games under .500 at 14-18. The Mets (18-13) are five games above .500 for the first time since July 19, 2010.
Making his first start since straining his left oblique in the 10th inning of a gem against San Francisco on April 18, Lee allowed two runs and five hits, striking out six.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that Ike Davis is royally struggling right now.
Through 29 games with the Mets this season, Davis has almost twice as many walks as he does hits. The numbers are just scary to look at.He has just 17 hits and a whopping 31 strikeouts in 102 at-bats. That’s more than 30 percent of the time!
What’s wrong? First of all, he has so...
The New York Mets (18-13) defeated the Philadelphia Phillies (14-18) tonight behind a breakout night from Ike Davis to bring the Mets to 5 games above .500, 1/2 game of 1st place and their high-water mark on the year. The series sweep of Philadelphia represents the first time the Mets have swept Philadelphia at Citizens Bank Park since June 2006 and their first series sweep on the...
Photo by Michael BaronIke Davis is now 100 at bats into the season and is hitting .167 with three homeruns, one double and nine RBIs. To say he's in a slump is an understatement and you have to wonder what the Mets should do with their big slugger who they thought would anchor the line-up. They've already made the first move by moving him down in the line-up, taking the pressure...
Is there anything Andres Torres can’t do?
Before we praise Torres, let’s take a minute to remember how he came to the Mets in the first place over the winter. Depending on your point of view, Torres was acquired:
A – Since the Mets were desperate to get rid of Angel Pagan
B – Since the Mets were eager to get Ramon Ramirez
But it’s been nothing but good things for the...
Ike Davis has struggled this season. Is it time to send him to Triple-A?
When I saw yesterday’s New York Mets lineup, I thought it was a joke. But after watching SNY during pregame, I can see it’s the real lineup. With Vinny Rottino, Scott Hairston and Justin Turner are batting in front of Ike Davis, maybe it’s time to see the first baseman go to Triple-A and work...
Torres, One of the Mets Key Players Lately
Hey Mets fans..the New York Metropolitans are now 18-13, 1/2 game back in the NL East..
Is it time to get excited?
Why not, I believe the Mets can get it done as long as they stay clutch and keep receiving excellent pitching, but it is still early..
The Mets in their last 10 games are 6-4, being winners of their last 5. The...
Valdespin, Davis and Nickeas played prominent roles in Philly sweep.
The New York Mets started off this road trip in fine fashion by sweeping all three games from the Philadelphia Phillies. Each of the games were exciting, and could, in fact merit their individual 3 & 3, however in honor of the three game Philly sweep, we’re going to disregard the regular 3 & 3 format,...
PHILADELPHIA -- Ike Davis hit a three-run homer and the New York Mets scored eight runs off Philadelphia's bullpen in a 10-6 victory that completed a three-game sweep over the slumping Phillies on Wednesday night. Andres Torres also hit a homer, and the Mets rallied for the third straight game to improve to 18-13. The loss spoiled the return of Cliff Lee for the Phillies...

D-Backs - 5 - Mets 4
The Mets blew the game to Arizona tonight 5-4 thanks, in large part, to an 8th inning error by Ike Davis that opened the door for 3 D-Backs runs.Of course, Tim Byrdak and Jon Rauch could have picked Ike up - which happens on good teams - but both relievers had nothing.Mets Blob is a big fan of Ike Davis - but if Ike is going to bat .170 he better be
Many scoffed at the lineup the Mets trotted out on Wednesday night as they looked for a sweep in Philadelphia — myself included.
Hairston cleanup? Ha! Vinny Rottino 5th? LOL! Justin Turner at short? WTF? Ike Davis against Cliff Lee? LMAO! Rob Johnson? The Quarterback?
But Terry Collins got the last laugh. Led by Davis, who broke out with two extra base hits including a three-run...
The New York Mets completed the three-game sweep of the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday night and rallied to win 10-6:
The win marked the clubs fifth in-a-row, as they improved to five games over .500 for the first time since July 19th 2010. Trailing 4-2 after six innings, the Mets rallied to pick up their MLB best 11th comeback victory. Following the game, manager Terry...
Last night's sweep of the defending division champion, Philadelphia Phillies, was a hard fought battle the entire way. Three games..three come from behind victories. But what does it mean?As the Mets push into the middle of May they remain on the upswing. The first 31 games of the 2012 season have seen them sweep a series from the Braves, Marlins, and Phillies in route to...
PHILADELPHIA -- While the New York Mets celebrated in the other clubhouse, the Philadelphia Phillies got an earful from their manager. A three-game sweep will do that. Ike Davis hit a three-run homer and the Mets scored eight runs off the Phillies' bullpen in a 10-6 victory Wednesday night that completed their first three-game sweep at Philadelphia in six years. "We...
