Found December 09, 2008 on Dom D's Mets Fan Blog:
According to John Heyman of SI.com, The Mets are closing in on a deal for Francisco Rodriguez. The deal, which is expected to be consummated very soon, is said to be for about $37 million over three years.

"It's going to get done,'' said a person familiar with the talks.

So if the Mets get this done soon, the Mets can concentrate on other moves like starting pitcher and setup. The Mets seem to still be in the hunt for Huston Street, who yesterday Joel Sherman reported that that the Mets made the first move of trying to send Feliciano and Heilman in a deal for Street, then rebuffed it. So the deal is out there if they want it. The Rockies would love the possibility of Heilman being a starter pitcher in '09.

The Mets will also look into the Olliver Perez saga. The Mets want him back bad, but at what price?
I'd say if the Mets were to offer Ollie a contract, it would have to be 4 for $50 Million.

The Mets, according to Dan Graziano of the NJ Star Ledger are still in the hunt for Jon Garland, who appears high on their list.
