With the MLB All-Star game in Queens this year, the New York Mets are hoping to send as many Mets players as possible with the biggest name being third baseman David Wright — who is currently about 200,000 votes behind San Francisco Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval. Sandoval is now on the disabled list due to a foot injury and this may help Wright in making a rebound in his voting.
Apparently the Mets have been asking Cougarlife.com for help in that regard. Just recently the site named Wright the “hottest cub”. Now the Mets want to take advantage of this audience and help make a push for Wright to start the all-star game.
“Cougar Life voted David Wright as the hottest cub,” said the Mets said via a statement. “In our effort to expand All-Star balloting to wider audiences, so as to increase votes, we did reach out to Cougar Life. Last year there was a big swing of votes at the end that cost David the starting job. We decided to do everything to make sure that doesn’t...

David Wright spoke out about the overzealous campaign by the Mets to get him voted to the All Star Game.
“It’s nice when the organization is trying so hard to do something for one of their players and I can’t thank them enough for that,” Wright said.
“But at the same time, I’ve asked them to kind of back it down a little bit, especially with the stuff between innings...
The New York Mets can complain all they want. David Wright is not the biggest snub on the MLB All-Star ballot.
Despite hitting .288 with an on-base percentage of .379, Wright is trailing San Francisco Giant Pablo Sandoval in All-Star voting.
Wright’s current designation as a back-up on the All-Star roster has led to the Mets to consider drastic measures to reel in votes.
So now it’s come to this.
After a series of emails were leaked to Deadspin, the Mets had no choice but to admit they stooped down to hitting up a cougar/cub dating website to help promote David Wright’s All Star Game bid.
Wright lost out to Giant’s 3rd baseman Pedro Sandoval last year, and this year Sandoval already has a lead on him. With this year’s games taking place...
Cougar Life is a dating web site for older women to find younger men. Last month, the site asked their members which baseball player they’d most like to score with, and NY Met David Wright came out on top (pun intended…or not).
A staff member in the Mets marketing department thought they could use this prestigious award (or something) to get Wright more All-Star votes. This...

The New York Mets are really thinking outside the box. The Mets wanted Wright to be a starter for the All-Star game and attempted to promote David Wright’s All-Star candidacy through a dating website. “Cougar Life voted David Wright as the hottest cub,” the Mets said in a statement Thursday. “In our effort to expand All-Star balloting to wider audiences...
For those scoring at home, the website Cougarlife.com, has over 3.9 million members, which is probably close to double what the New York Mets will draw this year. And, a fraction of that would be enough to select David Wright to the All-Star Game this July at Citi Field.
So, despite the obvious reaction of “what were they thinking?’’ the potential numbers indicate it might...
Just as the New York Mets took a tumble, dropping a 2-1 decision to the visiting St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday, this fan took a tumble of his own.
Thus, our "Boob of the Day." Congrats Mr. Tumbling Mets fan!

The New York Mets are going all out in an effort to ensure David Wright is voted in as the starting third baseman for the NL All-Star team this year. The Mets are hosting the Mid-Summer Classic at Citi Field next month, and they don’t want to suffer the embarrassment of having their franchise player [...]
David Wright has gained some ground on Pablo Sandoval according to the latest All Star voting update released by Major League Baseball this evening.
Last week, Sandoval had more than a 200,000 vote lead, but now Wright has narrowed that gap to just 126,403 votes.
The Mets have made an aggressive push to get the vote out, as has MMO and we are starting to make a big impact. There’s...
Adam Wainwright became the major leagues' first 10-game winner by pitching seven scoreless innings and sent Matt Harvey to his first loss of the season, leading the St. Louis Cardinals over the New York Mets 2-1 Thursday in a classic pitching matchup.
Wainwright (10-3) retired his first 11 batters before David Wright's single, and allowed four hits with six strikeouts and...

Check out the video. NBC sportscaster Bob Costas referred to the New York Mets 4-3 victory celebration over the Chicago Cubs as an “indication of the ongoing decline of Western Civilization.”

The Mets after their Fathers Day walk off win against the Cubs (I was at this game and it was awesome) have now played 162 games since being 35-29 on June 14th 2012.
At that point one year ago they had just been swept by the Yankees at Yankee Stadium, went on the road to Tampa Bay and, swept the Rays. Robert Allen Dickey was in the middle of back to back one hitters and the Mets...
