The New York Mets are reportedly interested in acquiring free-agent outfielder Cody Ross.According to ESPN, the Mets are competing with the Boston Red Sox for Ross’ services. Ross was originally after a three-year deal this offseason, but has lowered his demands. He’s a solid right-handed bat that can play all three outfield positions. Ross hit just .240 BA with 14 home runs last season, but jumped on the radar with his strong performance during the San Francisco Giants’ World Series run in 2010, when he hit .294 BA with five home runs and 10 RBI in the 2010 postseason.
