Baron My guess is that the Mets would like to bring in a couple of guys on minor league deals rather than commit to a major league contract, unless there’s an affordable deal they simply can’t pass up.  With pitching at a scarcity it’s hard to imagine anything will come cheap these days but Citi Field and New York city can be an inviting package to a pitcher who  wants to up their stock on a big stage. Because Kyle Lohse is going to require at least a 2-year deal, draft pick compensation, and a whole lot of money, he is essentially not an option for New York.  That’s a frustrating reality for me to face because he’s low-risk / high-reward alternative to the bargain bin pitchers the Mets have been constantly linked to these past few offseasons.  You have to pay for quality, hopefully New York will be in position to do that soon enough.
