Eli's MLB Rumors:
The Mets are reportedly hoping to trade a couple of prospects for a closer like Huston Street or JJ Putz. According to Newsday, the Mets would like to spend their money elsewhere and have no problem unloading a couple of prospects for a legitimate closer. Among other closers, George Sherrill or Joakim Soria could fill in long term and save the team a lot of money. If the Mets would prefer to trade a low level prospect or two, they could target Marlins closer Kevin Gregg. If you don't remember, the Mets and Marlins worked together a couple years back in several to pull several trades, so they should be very familiar with their farm system. This story was approved by MLB Rumors.
