The 2012 New York Mets season will not include any postseason action and given how they played, it could still be a couple more years before we see them playing meaningful October baseball. However, the Mets have won six of their last seven – tying their best streak of the season – and they have a chance to end their season on a high with a few more wins. Atlanta has already clinched a playoff berth and likely won’t be overexerting themselves in a rather meaningless series against the Mets. New York could take advantage even though they’ve struggled against the Braves this season. They’v...

R.A Dickey Notches 20th Victory in Home Finale

The unmistakable chants of “Cy Young” echoed throughout the cavernous Citi Field as R.A Dickey emerged from the dugout to deliver his post-game address to Kevin Burkhardt. Dickey, at 37, had just become the first Met in 22 years to win 20 games in a single season and did so in front of an overwhelmingly supportive crowd at Citi Field. In the season finale at Citi Field, the New...

New York Mets legend (and current broadcaster) Keith Hernandez shaved off his iconic mustache before Thursday's game at Citi Field against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Are The Players Turning The Tables On The Mets Front Office?

Fred Wilpon and Sandy Alderson gazing into the future and watching their plan unfold? On Wednesday I posted this comment R.A. Dickey made regarding his thoughts on signing an extension with the Mets after this season: “If I don’t see them pursuing David hard,” Dickey said, “I think it would be a message to everybody that they’re content to spend the next five or six years...
