Akron Aeros 13, Binghamton Mets 3
The Mets may be awesome – but even they can’t win them all, as the B-Mets dropped this game to the Aeros 13-3.
If this game only lasted five innings, the Mets would have walked away with a commanding victory – and although the numbers may look a little rough, there were a lot of positives to take away from Tyler Pill‘s AA debut. After walking the first batter, Tyler Holt, to begin the game, Pill retired the next nine batters straight. This including striking out the side in the third and allowing just two hits and one run through the five innings overall. The run was unearned as well, due to a throwing error in the fourth.
Pill fell apart in the sixth, however, where he allowed three hits, a walk, and a run without recording an out. He was pulled from the game in favor of Mark Cohoon, who allowed all three inherited runners to score, which left Pill’s final line at five hits and two walks through 5+ innings, with four earned runs.
