Mets pitcher Shaun Marcum enjoys bowling in his spare time, and I think it’s safe to assume that the right-hander is pretty good at it too, seeing that the incredibly cool, red eyed skull with a hole in its head bowling ball being shown off is the one he uses strictly for picking up spares, according to Mets PR man Jay Horowitz. This is Shaun Marcum’s new bowling ball. He uses it just for spares. It doesn’t spin as much as his strike ball. twitter.com/Jay_HorwitzPR/… — Jay Horwitz (@Jay_HorwitzPR) March 20, 2013 If that’s the one Marcum uses just for spares, I wonder what his “strike” ball looks like? Probably contains the heart of a grizzly bear that he killed with his bare hands or something. If intimidation factor is huge in bowling, then Shaun Marcum and his menacing bowling ball have it in spades.
