According to Jon Heyman of SI.com, Jorge Posada's agent contacted the Mets to see if they'd be interested in the veteran catcher. Mets politely declined, but Heyman says the team may have interest in another veteran, JasonVaritek. I'm not sure Varitek can be considered a defensive catcher anymore and his average is only .220 these days, while he'll give you a few more homeruns then were use to out of the position ( 11 HR last year).
