According to Jon Heyman of SI.com, the Mets are exploring the possibilities of  trading for a big bat. According to Heyman's sources he believes the Mets will be interested in acquiring a first basemen that also plays the outfield. This is because Minaya thinks Delgado will be back this season.

He lists Adam Dunn,  Aubrey Huff,  Brad Hawpe,  Mark DeRosa...

Here is the problem with each:

Adam Dunn - Home Run hitter with a lot of  K's...Mets could of had him when he was a free agent. Not a great defender at 1B..

Aubrey Huff - Even though he possesses power, his batting average is not that appealing. Not known to have defensive appeal at first base or outfield

Brad Hawpe - The Rockies are rolling now... Will take a pitching prospects that the Mets can't afford to give.. He is batting .343 with 10 HR's.. Does it take Daniel Murphy + to get him?

Mark DeRosa - Cleveland is looking to shed salary and apparently DeRosa is not in the long term plans, but the Mets are not giving up on Parnell just yet.. He does play every where.. See Gammon's blog for more...
