Oliver Perez was OK, except for giving up five walks..He pitched 6.1 innings and newcomer Luis Ayala bailed him out of further trouble getting the final 2 outs in the seventh.

Nick Evans and Carlos Beltran had two hits a piece. Carlos Delgado the go-ahead runs in the eighth with a two run double.

Damion Easley punched a two run single and Castro followed with a RBI double.
