The Mets announced today that they have signed Southpaw Chuck James to a minor league deal with an invite to Spring Training.

Right now you’re probably thinking to yourself, “who in the world is Chuck James?” Well, to be honest, I was thinking the same exact thing until I read more about him.
Basically, the Mets signed to add starting pitching depth that the Mets desperately need. I highly doubt he will make the big league roster–unless Johan Santana is not ready for Opening Day and there is no one else better than him available.
