Multiple reports indicate that the Mets have signed Casey Fossum to a minor league deal and will report straight to minor league camp. Fossum briefly pitched for the Mets in 2009, three games ( 4 innings) with an ERA of 2.25. That was also the last time the 33 y/o lefty appeared in the majors. In nine seasons he's appeared in 237 games, 120 of those games were as a starter and 35 games he was the finishing reliever ( only 2 saves). Fossum will more then likely be a backup to Pat Misch as the left handed longman. The team has now added more depth, agreeing to a minor league deal with veteran lefty Casey Fossum, according to an organizational source. Fossum will report to minor league camp. source Daily News
