Found November 24, 2011 on Matthew Cerrone's Mets Blog:
PLAYERS: Jose Reyes
TEAMS: New York Mets
Michael Baron: In talking with fans both here and on Twitter, it seems a lot of people are anxious for the Mets to make some kind of moves, and for good reason. However, the new CBA just got signed, and the course the Mets take has a lot to do with where Jose Reyes decides to go, and Sandy has said that process will be slow. The winter meetings run from December 5 – 8 in Dallas, and at the very least I’d expect the situation with Reyes to become clearer during that time, which will further clarify the Mets off-season plans (and for other teams as well).

How I Stopped Worrying About Jose Reyes

I read the papers, same as the next guy. I hear all the doom and gloom from my favorite Mets MSM writers: Adam Rubin, Steve Popper, Marty Noble and Andy McCullough. Every day, it’s a done-deal that Jose Reyes is going…somewhere. San Francisco? Detroit? Milwaukee? Boston? Miami? Yep, might as well resign myself to the fact that Jose’s a goner. It’s in print, right...

Completely A Formality: Mets offer Reyes arbitration

Mets offer Reyes Arby...

Photo by Michael BaronMets offered arbitration to Jose Reyes, ensuring themselves two draft picks if he walks.  This is nothing more then a formality, for Reyes to accept arbitration he could only receive a one year deal.  This is more about the Mets receiving compensation picks in the event that they can't re-sign him to a multi-year deal.  In a formality that allows them...

The Phillies will either have to sign Rollins or Reyes

Based on the current market for shortstops, “It is looking more and more like the Phillies will either have to sign Rollins, make an unlikely run at Jose Reyes, or resign themselves to playing 2012 with a huge offensive drop off at short stop,” according to David Murphy of the Philadelphia Daily News. Jim Salisbury of Comcast Philly says that, while the Phillies are interested...

Mets offer Jose Reyes arbitration

The Mets have offered Jose Reyes salary arbitration, tweets Ken Davidoff of Newsday. Reyes is considered a Type-A free agent, so should he depart, the Mets would be guaranteed two draft picks as compensation. If he signs with a team that finished in the top 15 in 2011, the Mets would get their first round pick and a pick in between the first and second round. However, if he signs...

What Mets fans should be thankful for

As we sit down to feast on Thanksgiving, I thought today would be a great day to celebrate for what we, as Mets fans, should be thankful. Many a Met fan these days are of the despondent and cynical version and it’s hard to blame them as the Mets have continued to disappoint their fan base for the last few years. And now we continuously have to worry about if Jose Reyes will leave...

Jerry Seinfeld Shows Off His New Dog, "Jose Reyes" (Video)

As life goes on without Regis Philbin, comedian Jerry Seinfeld decided to join "Live with Kelly" for this week as a guest host. For those who don't know Jerry is a New York Mets fan and recently decided to name his dog, "Jose Reyes". Below is his appearance on the show...the dog...not Jose Reyes: (Courtesy of Larry Brown Sports)

Jose Reyes Seinfeld The Puppy Begs Jose Reyes The Human To Stay With The Mets

Jerry Seinfeld is a Mets fan, for some masochistic reason. Being a Mets fan means always having to say they're sorry. But one silver lining is the very real chance of re-signing Jose Reyes, so that they can pay him $15 million when he's 36 years old, which is the soonest possible time the team will be good again. Video: Jerry Seinfeld’s dog makes a plea for Jose Reyes to stay

OK, so I take back everything I said about "Jose Reyes" being a terrible name for Jerry Seinfeld's new dog. Don't get me wrong: I still contend that he doesn't want a lifelong reminder of a big disappointment every time the hound rubs against his feet or digs up his garden. He should have gone the safe route and named him 'Kranepool.' But I admit that...

Jerry Seinfeld Names Dog After Mets Player to Persuade Him to Stay

Jerry Seinfeld is apparently a huge New York  Mets and Jose Reyes fan. Reyes is a free agent and is said to most likely be signing with the Miami Marlins.  Seinfeld showed off the newest member of his family on ABC's daytime talk show LIVE in hopes that Reyes would stay.  Not sure this will be enough to make the All-Star give up millions of dollars to play for the Marlins...

Jerry Seinfeld Bought a Dog and Named Him Jose Reyes

Jerry Seinfeld’s baseball allegiance is pretty well known in the sports world to be the New York Mets. He hasn’t kept quiet as the team has struggled, and wants the team to resign free agent shortstop Jose Reyes. He decided to make this known by buying a dog and naming him Jose Reyes, possibly for [...]
