Bruntlett_error
So much for the Phillies owning the Mets. The Mets took advantage of 4 errors and a poor start by Kyle Kendrick to win 8-2 and snap the Phillies' nine game winning streak over New York. The Phils played without Jimmy Rollins, who sat out with a minor ankle injury, and his replacement Eric Bruntlett made two costly errors in the 3rd inning that led to a 6-run outburst by the Mets. Kendrick finished the game with only one earned run, but looked shaky and lasted only 2 1/3 innings. Offensively, the Phillies out-hit the Mets 8-5, but they stranded 9 runners throughout the game. They had bases loaded situations in the 2nd and 8th innings and they failed to capitalize both times.

  • Please explain why Bruntlett, the guy that is on the roster for his utility defense... can't play defense? I didn't expect much offensively but come on, he pretty much cost us the game.
  • That's a great question. If he can't do the one thing he's here for, why is he here?
  • Bruntlett and Feliz are setting themselves up to get booed hardcore upon the teams return to Philly.

Phils lead league in errors with 13 and a lowest .962 fielding %.
  • What the heck is goin' on here? There's such a lack of focus and discipline. Last night was like watching little league.ugggggghhhhhhhhhhh. Pray for me -I'm going Sunday.lol

  • Phillies Baseball in April, Gotta Love It!
  • Give em a chance, the seasons young. Our defense is solid, our offense is down right scary and the pitchings mediocre as usual. J-Roll said if we could get out of April at a .500 record we're set
  • Actually, besides Kendrick and the bad start by Myers, the pitching hasn't been that bad
  • its been mediocre
  • Yeah, looking at the numbers, it's been mediocre overall
  • Kendricks first start was messy, but did what he needed to do to get out of jams. Both of Moyers starts have been ugly, but he keeps us in it somehow. Myers is still getting back into his groove. Hamels is Hamels, nuff said. Eaton...what a surprise thus far, lets just hope he continues his Shea Stadium dominance.

  • Our defense is solid, just not playing solidly right now. and IT IS EARLY...how well did we start last year? As long as we're at .500 by the end of the month, J Roll says we're fine. And the last time I checked...his ass can cash the checks his mouth writes. Also its not like the rest of the division is off to a super start. We have 95% of the season left so just relax.
  • Phillies pitching- 41 walks 43 k's...that's mediocre by definition.
  • And Booger you can't really hate on Myers...he's doing what the team asked of him. He'd rather be in the pen, he's said that many times...but the team needed a starter so he's being a team player. Besides...the guy has a bidet in his bathroom. (and yes I actually used Brett Myer's bathroom this past summer.) He was getting a new AC system in his house in Glen Mills and my company was supplying it....he wasn't there though haha
