The Rangers and Phillies are on the verge of a trade involving Michael Young and according to T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com, the deal could happen today. Young is expected to waive his no-trade clause to approve the move to Philadelphia.
The Rangers will reportedly eat more than half of Young’s $16 million salary, and the Phillies are expected to send Texas a reliever and a low-level prospect.

Phillies GM Ruben Amaro Jr. spoke to reporters yesterday and confirmed that as a result of trading Vance Worley to obtain outfielder Ben Revere, he is keying in on a one or two low risk, high reward pitchers, while they await for an answer from the Rangers on Michael Young, whom they made a trade offer for.
Initially, Amaro said he might be willing to fill the rotation spot vacated by Worley from within the organization, but conceded that he is more inclined to sign a free agent.
