WHAT'S THE NEWS

Not much to report, just remember the Draft is today at 6:00 PM with the first three rounds.

I do want to point out that online voting has started for the Triple-A and Double-A All-Star Games. Check out MILB.com for more information.

COLUMBUS

Zach Jackson threw just 69 pitches in three innings of work as Columbus fell to Gwinnett by one run on Monday.

Michael Gosling made his Clipper debut by going three innings and giving up one earned off three hits.

Michael Brantley and Andy Marte had two his each with runs scored, while Wyatt Toregas had three hits and one of the Clipper RBIs. Andy Cannizaro, Matt LaPorta and Rob the Mack o Wack had the others.

AKRON

Scheduled day off for the Akron Aeros. They are back in action today against New Hampshire at Canal Park.

KINSTON

Kinston was also on an off-day, they head off to Myrtle Beach to finish up the first stint of a road-trip that will have them going back to Kinston for a quick three game series before going back on the road.

LAKE COUNTY

Hey would you look at that, a one run game for the Lake County Captains.

This was a bit of an explosive offensive performance for both teams, but unfortunately for the Captains, they didn't have enough against Delmarva.

However Delvi Cid and Donnie Webb continue to be killers at the top of the lineup, they went a combined 5-8 with two walks, 2 runs, 3 stolen bases and a run batted in.

Both Walter Diaz and Abner Abreu had two hits and knocked in two runs for the Caps, but Danny Salazar's early struggles provided to be too much late as the bullpen ended up giving it away. Salazar though gave up six runs off ten hits in five innings.
