Today is a very light schedule, especially at the higher levels. Indianapolis, Altoona and Bradenton all have off today. They will each resume play Tuesday night. State College is now on their All-Star break.  They resume play at home on Wednesday night.  Four teams were off yesterday and resume play today, West Virginia, the GCL Pirates and both DSL teams. West Virginia is the only full season Pirates affiliate playing today

Triple-A: Indianapolis (74-49) @ Rochester (62-60) 7:05pm 8/14
Probable starter: Kyle McPherson (0-0 1.50)

Yesterday’s Result: Indianapolis 5  Columbus 4  (game story)

Indianapolis has off today. They currently sit in first place in their division, with a ten game lead over Columbus, the only team with a chance to catch them in the standings. Indy also has the best record in the International League. The Indians have 21 games left in their schedule, with three at home against Columbus.

Double-A: Altoona (58-61) @ Portland (55-65) 7:00pm 8/14
Probable starter: Tyler Waldron (1-0 4.76)

Yesterday’s Result: Altoona 8 Trenton 3

Altoona has off today. They currently sit in fourth place, 11.5 games back from the Akron Aeros. On August 27th, the Curve will begin a five game series at home against Akron. They resume their current schedule with three games in Portland, starting Tuesday night. It marks the start of a nine game road trip. Altoona has won four straight. They have 22 games left in their season.

High-A: Bradenton (54-65 overall 25-24 2nd half) vs Charlotte (48-67 overall 19-29 2nd half) 6:30pm 8/14
Probable starter: TBD

Yesterday’s Result:  Bradenton 3 Palm Beach 0 (game one) Palm Beach 3 Bradenton 0 (game two)

Bradenton has off today. They currently sit in first place in their division, tied with St Lucie, the first half champs. Bradenton has 19 games left in their schedule, with the last four coming against St Lucie. Two of those games will be at home, two on the road.

Low-A: West Virginia (50-69 overall 27-22 2nd half) vs Greensboro (71-48 overall 25-24 2nd half) 7:05pm
Probable starter: Zack Von Rosenberg (3-5 4.94)

Yesterday’s Result: West Virginia was off

Zack Von Rosenberg will get his 13th start of the season tonight. He has pitched a total of 58.1 innings, allowing 64 hits, eight homers, 17 walks and he has 46 strikeouts. In his last start, he gave up six runs on six hits in five innings, with seven strikeouts. In Zack’s previous outing, he allowed seven runs in just 2.2 innings. Prior to those two starts, he had a 2.39 ERA in his five July starts.

Short Season A: State College (28-26) vs Jamestown (22-30) 7:05pm 8/15
Probable Starter: All-Star Break

Yesterday’s Result: Jamestown 6 State College  1

State College is on their All-Star break. The AS game will be played on Tuesday night and Jacob Stallings, Tyler Gaffney and DJ Crumlich will represent the Spikes in the game. Barrett Barnes was also picked for the team but he is unable to play due to injury.

Rookie: GCL Pirates (27-21) vs GCL Yankees (29-19) 12:00pm

DSL: Pirates1 (35-23) vs Rangers (37-22) 10:30am
