Indianapolis had their game against Columbus suspended in the 13th inning with the score tied at four runs apiece. The two teams will complete that game prior to Saturday’s meeting in Indianapolis. West Virginia’s game was suspended in the third inning. They will complete that game today, then play their regularly scheduled game, which will now be seven innings. Altoona returns from their All-Star break today. Both DSL teams had their games postponed by rain yesterday. AAA: Indianapolis (59-34) @ Louisville (47-48) 7:05pm Probable starter: Kris Johnson (8-4, 2.86) Yesterday’s Result: Columbus 4, Indianapolis 4 in 13 innings- suspended Kris Johnson will make his 15th start of the season tonight. He has also pitched five times in relief. As a starter, he is 8-3, 2.58 in 83.2 innings. On the year, he has 70 strikeouts, a 1.51 GO/AO ratio and a .244 BAA. In his last start, Johnson went seven innings, allowing two runs on seven hits, no walks and six strikeouts. His previous start was against this same Louisville team. He went seven innings in that game, allowing three runs on seven hits and a walk. That game was his only loss in his last ten appearances. AA: Altoona (39-50) @ Akron (44-46) 7:05pm Probable starter: Eliecer Navarro (1-2, 6.14) Yesterday’s Result: Altoona was off Eliecer Navarro will make his fifth start for Altoona tonight. Prior to joining the Curve, he was 1-9, 2.86 in 11 starts and two relief appearances for Bradenton. Between both stops, Navarro has pitched 91.1 innings, allowing 87 hits, seven homers and 24 walks. He has 78 strikeouts, an 0.79 GO/AO ratio and a .243 BAA. In his last start, he went five innings, giving up three runs on seven hits and three walks. High-A: Bradenton (32-55 overall, 6-13 2nd half) @ Palm Beach (41-46) 6:35pm Probable starter: Zack Dodson (1-6, 5.19) Yesterday’s Result: Palm Beach 4, Bradenton 2 Zack Dodson will make his 12th start of the season tonight. He has also pitched once in relief. On the year, he has thrown 60.2 innings, allowing 69 hits, seven homers and 22 walks. Dodson has 28 strikeouts, a 1.08 GO/AO ratio and a .277 BAA. In his last start, he went 5.2 innings, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks. He faced this same Palm Beach team in his previous start, going five innings, with five runs allowed on five hits and four walks. Low-A: West Virginia (46-41 overall, 9-8 2nd half) @ Kannapolis (34-52) 7:05pm Probable starter: Clay Holmes (2-5, 4.89) Yesterday’s Result: West Virginia was suspended in the third inning Clay Holmes will make his 18th start of the season tonight. He has pitched 77.1 innings this year, allowing 72 hits, five homers and 51 walks. He has 49 strikeouts, a 1.68 GO/AO ratio and a .253 BAA. In his last start, Holmes went five innings, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks. Despite the high ERA and poor record, he has looked good at times recently, giving up two runs or less in seven of his last ten starts. Short-Season A: Jamestown (15-8) @ Hudson Valley (13-11) 7:05pm Probable Starter: Chad Kuhl (0-0, 0.00) Yesterday’s Result: Jamestown 8, Hudson Valley 4 No starter has been named for Jamestown tonight. Chad Kuhl started five days ago and is next up in the rotation. If he makes the start, it will be his third of the season. In each of his first two starts, he threw three shutout innings, giving up one walk and one hit in each game. Rookie:  GCL Pirates (8-8) vs GCL Blue Jays (8-7) 12:00pm Probable Starter:  Jon Sandfort (1-0, 1.00) Yesterday’s Result: Pirates 9, Blue Jays 8 (game report) Jon Sandfort will make his second start of the season today. He will actually follow a rehab outing from Jared Hughes, who will likely go one inning. Sandfort has also pitched once in relief. In his lone start five days ago, he threw four innings without allowing a hit or walk and he struck out six batters. He hit one batter in that game. In his season opener, which came out of the bullpen, he threw three scoreless innings. He gave up two hits, no walks and struck out three batters. Sandfort was a third round draft last year. He pitched 15 innings in the GCL last season, allowing 11 hits, ten walks and he struck out seven batters. He had an 0-1, 4.80 record.
