The Pittsburgh Pirates have acquired shortstop Brian Bocock from the Philadelphia Phillies in a minor league trade, according to the AAA minor league transactions page. There is no known return, so it’s assumed to be cash considerations going the other way. Bocock will join the Indianapolis Indians. He has a .224/.290/.298 line in 272 at-bats this year. Indianapolis is short on position players, due to the amount of players the Pirates have called up this year, so Bocock will add depth on the bench.
