After a Tuesday night loss in which Tigers pitching gave up a total of 13 runs to the Angels (7 of which were charged to rookie Jacob Turner), MLB executives from around the league have told ESPN’s Buster Olney that Detroit is actively seeking starting pitching. https://twitter.com/Buster_ESPN/status/225501326669398017 Among the names that the Tigers have shown some level of interest in include, Chicago Cubs starters Ryan Dempster and Matt Garza, Houston lefty Wandy Rodriguez and Tampa Bay’s James Shields. There has also been rumblings that the Tigers could make a bigger splash by acquiring Zack Greinke from the Brewers or shut down lefty Cole Hamels from the Phillies. What may be the bigger question for the Tigers though is who they would be willing to part with.
