MLB has received another black eye. To hear the news of guys like Bartolo Colon & Nelson Cruz getting involved in the use of P.E.D.’s is just disgusting. How many times are guys going to get caught using a banned substance and get slapped on the wrist? These athletes are making millions of dollars to play a game and they can’t even abide by the rules set fourth. Players that kids look up to like heroes only to find out later they cheated. Guys like Colon and Cruz and even Rodriguez need to be made examples of. It is time to get tough. Ban these guys from ever returning to the game. It is an honor and a privilege to play a professional sport. It is not a God-given right. The best of the best make it to the professional level and for the past few decades we are finding out how many of these guys cheated. Baseball has given random drug tests and eve with guys failing them and being suspended for 50 games per season, others think they can beat the system. MLB is sending the wrong me...

Moreland looking for improvement vs. lefties
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS Mitch Moreland is well aware of his struggles against left-handed pitching over his first three years with the Texas Rangers.
Moreland has spent his offseason doing everything he can to try and make it better by working on his swing against left-handers at home in Alabama. Moreland has batted just .232 against lefties with the Rangers.
He's hoping the...

The worst offseason in the history of the Texas Rangers took another ugly turn Tuesday when slugger Nelson Cruz's name showed up in a Miami New Times report linking major leaguers to performance-enhancing drugs. Two of the players on this list, Alex Rodriguez and Nationals ace Gio Gonzalez have issued strong denials.
Cruz, who apparently was in the Dominican Republic, hasn...
Player Profile #121: Nelson Cruz | OF | TEX
Innocent until proven guilty, right? It’s possible that MLB’s investigation into the South Florida PED scandal will result in suspensions for some of the players named, and right now we know that Nelson Cruz is one of those named players.
Now we have to look at Cruz’s surprising transition from quad-A star to one of the game’s best sluggers on a per-game basis with a more...
Player Profile #123: Josh Reddick | OF | OAK
I’d say the Oakland Athletics did pretty well for themselves last offseason, trading closer Andrew Bailey for outfielder Josh Reddick. In fact, Reddick hit twice as many homers last year (32) as Bailey had innings pitched (15.1). For those of you scoring at home, that would be a win, folks.
It was tough getting a feel for Reddick in Boston’s system as he played 12 partial seasons...

The Rangers found out about the investigation last week.

Nelson Cruz’s Unclear Future No Reason for Rangers to Panic, Overpay for Michael Bourn
Nelson Cruz was among the players listed in Tuesday’s Miami New Times report about a clinic allegedly selling performance-enhancing drugs. The outfielder is innocent until proven guilty, but even if he eventually faces a suspension, don’t expect the Rangers to make any rash decisions.
According to MLB.com’s T.R. Sullivan, the Rangers have not renewed their interest in free...
Rangers rumors: Will Texas now pursue Michael Bourn?
Last week, the Texas Rangers indicated they were happy with
the current makeup of their team, including their outfield. Following Nelson
Cruz’s ties to the south Florida performance-enhancing drug scandal and the
potential suspension that could result, Buster Olney of ESPN wonders if the
Rangers will now pursue free agent center fielder Michael Bourn.
TEX determined that...
