Adding injury to insult, Cleveland Indians starting pitcher Corey Kluber has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with what is being called a right long finger sprain. Kluber reportedly suffered the injury Monday night in Cleveland’s 4-2 loss to Detroit in Progressive Field. So far this season, Corey is 7-5 with a 3.54 ERA in 21 games (122 innings, 120 hits, 48 earned runs, 26 walks, 116 strikeouts). For the month of July, Kluber held opposing hitters to a .584 OPS. Despite his successes, Kluber has managed to record just one win in his last seven starts. This marks his first career stint on the disabled list. Taking Kluber’s spot on the active roster is right-handed relief pitcher Matt Langwell. Langwell has split the 2013 season between Columbus and Cleveland and is beginning his third stint with the Indians.  With the Indians he is 1-0 with a 5.06 ERA in five relief appearances over two stints in June. Over 5 1/3 innings, he has allowed five hits and three earned runs while striking out six and walking two. At Columbus, Langwell has gone 3-3 with two saves and a 2.64 ERA in 34 games.
