The White Sox make the biggest jump in Fansided MLB Power Rankings history jumping ten spots.  In the last 30 games the White Sox have an amazing 25-5 record.

Biggest jump: Chicago White Sox jump from 17 to 7.

Biggest drop: Minnesota Twins dropped eight spots from 8 to 16.

Ranking (LW RNK) Team   Record

1. (1)  New York Yankees 56-32

The Yankees finished the first half of the season with the MLB’s best record having won 28 games at home and on the road.

2. (4)  Tampa Bay Rays 54-34

Rays open the month of July with a 9-2 record climbing their way back into the number two spot.  After the All-Star break the Rays face the Yankees in their first series of the second half.

3. (6)  Atlanta Braves 52-36

Having won the last two series against the Phillies and Mets heading into the All-Star break the Braves pushed their division lead to four games.

4. (2)  Texas Rangers 50-38

The Good: Rangers acquired Cliff Lee.  The Bad: Rangers closed out the first half of the season with a four-game losing streak.  The Ugly: The four-game sweep was curiosity of the Orioles who had not swept a four-game series since 1995.

5. (3)  Boston Red Sox 51-37

Are the injuries taking a toll on the Red Sox? Boston started July with a 4-5 record however are keeping pace with the Yankees and Rays.

6. (7)   San Diego Padres 51-37

There is no doubt the Padres are now contenders thanks in part to having lead the NL West for much of the season.  The offense however is still the weakest part of the team and it will be interesting to see how much of a buyer this team becomes at the trade deadline.

7. (17)  Chicago White Sox 49-38

The White Sox reclaimed first place in the AL Central and reached the All-Star break with an eight-game winning streak.

8. (7)  Cincinnati Reds 49-41

Although the Reds were swept by the Phillies in the last four-games they still held onto first place in the NL Central.

9. (13)  Colorado Rockies 49-39

Finishing with an 8-2 record the Rockies took advantage of their home stand heading into the All-Star break to pull within two games of the NL West lead.

10. (14)  Detroit Tigers 48-38

Behind Triple Crown chasing Miguel Cabrera and winning five of the last six games the Tigers are a game out of first place.

11. (12)  Los Angeles Dodgers 49-39

The Dodgers best pitcher Clayton Kershaw heads into the All-Star with a 9-4 record, 2.96 ERA, 128 K’s and an opponent’s batting average of .209.  Kershaw has allowed more than three earned runs only twice this season.

12. (11)  New York Mets 48-40

After finishing June with an 18-8 record the Mets started July with a 4-6 record.

13. (15)  Philadelphia Phillies 47-40

After losing consecutive series to the Pirates and Braves the Phillies finished the first half of the season with a four-game sweep of the Reds.

14. (10)  St. Louis Cardinals 47-41

In the final seven games before the All-Star break Matt Holliday was 8-for-25 with 5 HR’s and 12 RBI’s.

15. (16)  San Francisco Giants 47-41

The Giants finished a ten-game road trip with a 7-3record and Buster Posey had 19 hits, six homers and 13 RBI’s on the trip.  According to the Elias Sports Bureau, no rookie in National League history compiled Posey’s numbers in a 10-game span.

16. (8)  Minnesota Twins 46-42

What happened?  The Twins are 3.5 games back of first place in the AL Central thanks to losing five of the last six series heading into the All-Star break.

17. (9)  Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 47-44

Thanks to a 1-6 record in the last seven games the Angels reach the half way point out of first place for the first time since 2006.

18. (14)  Toronto Blue Jays 44-45

One thing going right for the Blue Jays is they lead the majors in team home runs with 136.  The bad thing is the Jays have a team batting average of .240, third worst in the majors.

19. (19)  Oakland A’s 43-46

To start the second half of the season the A’s will finish July with a series against the Royals, Red Sox, Rangers and White Sox twice.

20. (20)  Florida Marlins 42-46

The Marlins have a 21-23 record both at home and on the road.

21. (21)  Milwaukee Brewers 40-49

After a four-game sweep handed down by the Giants at home, the Brew Crew got a sweep of their own against the Pirates to finish with a three-game winning streak before the All-Star break.

22. (23)  Chicago Cubs 39-50

The Cubs have the National League’s best record against the NL West with an 11-5 record.  They have 18 more games against opponents from the NL West.

23. (24)  Kansas City Royals 39-49

In their final two series before the All-Star break the Royals swept the Mariners, than were swept by the White Sox.

24. (22)  Washington Nationals 39-50

With 536 team strikeouts the Nationals rank second worst in the NL.  Stephen Strasburg should help with that total in the second half of the season.

25. (27)  Houston Astros 36-53

The Astros offense ranks last in the NL in slugging percentage (.347) and on-base percentage (.296).

26. (25)  Seattle Mariners 35-53

Who’s next? Cliff Lee was the first Mariner to be traded.

27. (26)  Cleveland Indians 34-54

LeBron James should have signed with Cleveland…to help out the Indians.

28. (28)  Arizona Diamondbacks 34-55

New manager Kirk Gibson has a 3-7 record since taking over.

29. (29)  Pittsburgh Pirates 38-58

The Pirates have the least amount of runs scored in majors with 284 and the second most runs scored against them with 478.

30. (30)  Baltimore Orioles 29-59

The Orioles avoided losing sixty games before All-Star break by sweeping the Rangers in four games.
