Justin Upton and B.J. Upton have not played together for quite some time. B.J. had played his entire MLB career with the Tampa Bay Rays prior to signing with the Atlanta Braves just a little over a month ago. Justin has played his entire career with the Arizona Diamondbacks, although that may also be about to change. For years now, the Diamondbacks have pondered trading Justin. They have held off thus far, but they have also said that they will always listen. To his credit, Justin has put it all in the back of his mind, although his numbers are still not where many thought they would be at this point in his career. But what if the Upton Brothers were reunited? What if the Braves made a trade with the Diamondbacks for Justin and put him in the same outfield as his older brother? What sort of impact might that have on both players’ careers going forward? We may be about to find out, as the Braves are at least one of three teams reportedly showing a lot of interest in acquiring Justin from Arizona, along with the Seattle Mariners and Texas Rangers. All three are looking for an offensive upgrade. Justin would still have to approve a deal to the Mariners, while the Braves and Rangers are already on his lost of approved teams. It was thought that the Diamondbacks would move Jason Kubel after signing Cody Ross, but Justin could bring back a much more attractive package in return. It would make great sense for the Braves to pull off a deal to insert both Justin and B.J. Upton into their lineup in 2013. You never know what type of impact any acquisition could have, but one would have to figure reuniting the Uptons on the same team would turn into fruition.   The post MLB Rumors: Atlanta Braves Trying To Reunite Upton Brothers? appeared first on Hardball Chat Baseball Blog.

Braves Statistical Analysis Making You Cross-Eyed?

Justin Upton Is Not a Park Effect Mirage

Big news everyone – Justin Upton is still on the trade block. He has been for about three years now, and he will continue to be until he is mercifully traded to a team that wants him more than Arizona seems to. With yesterday’s reports about Upton’s availability, more than a few people on Twitter asked me about Upton’s home/road splits, and whether or not we should expect...

WBC Team USA possibilities

Just because Braves are eligible to play doesn't mean they're going to. 3. What does "expected to compete" mean? Who is "expecting" this? Is someone forcing them to be on the team? 4. PHOENIX -- Scratch San Diego off the list of possible landing spots for Justin Upton or Jason Kubel.
