MLB Injury News:
Roy Oswalt is getting himself Major League ready much like he did last season before joining the Texas Rangers. This year he is prepping to join the Colorado Rockies. And so far, he has looked sharp. He pitched an extended spring training game this weekend and looked good.
#Rockies RHP Roy Oswalt sparkled in extended spring start vs. Brewers Sat. 5 IP, 1H, 9 K. Leadoff bunt in 1st only hit. (more coming)

Harding says Oswalt is on pace for a June call-up if all holds true with the team's plans to bring him up after four or five minor league starts. Oswalt came up late in the year for the Rangers last season, but he was not able to do much to help them. In fact, he may have hurt the Rangers down the stretch. Colorado hopes to have better results with the former ace.
The Rockies are 24-20 this season. They have been surprising after some people (myself included) wrote them off as a last place team. As it stands now, the Rockies are one game out of first place in the National League West. While their success is not likely to carry on throughout the season, Oswalt may be able to help them remain competitive. If he can bring some of his old success, that is.
Last year, Oswalt posted an unsightly 5.80 ERA for the Rangers. However, in his career, the 35-year old Oswalt is 163-96 with a 3.28 ERA. He is a three-time All-Star and was a perennial Cy Young candidate for much of his career. No one expects him to get back to his peak, but if he can provide better than average results, the Rockies will be in good shape.
