  • M's didn't have Gil Meche last year but, yes, he was overpaid.
  • Was he overpaid for his previous performances? Yep. Did he pitch like it last year? Absolutely not. He was stunning and I was absolutely shocked. He was worth every penny last season.
  • I agree that Seattle has misused their fortune, but Adrian Beltre is no longer viewed as a bad investment by M's fans as a whole. He won a well deserved gold glove and is starting to produce wit hthe stick. No, he's not hittin 40 homers like he was paid to do, but he is Seattle's 2nd most important position player, in my opinion.
  • I'll agree with you that Richie Sexson is way overpaid but Beltre has been a good player for the M's. He may be a little overpaid but that's what happens when you have a monster season during a contract year. He lit it up that year for the Dodgers and the M's paid for it. It could be worse, we could've given Jason Schmidt a huge contract too.
  • I don't understand why Mariners fans are changing their opinion on Adrian Beltre. 30 something walks in about 600 at-bats? Are you kidding me? A .27X batting average?!

Sure, he won a Gold Glove last year. So he was essentially paid 13 mil to have a rare great defensive year and yet another poor offensive year.

Stop getting used to his salary. He's still overpaid and a bad investment.
