Found December 09, 2010 on Matthew Cerrone's Mets Blog:
Moises Alou declined the Mets offer to be on their coaching staff in 2011, according to Andy Martino of the Daily News. The buzz around the team had been that they would aim to announce the complete coaching staff by the end of this week, though I wouldn’t be surprised if that gets pushed back. Earlier this week, SNY’s Kevin Burkhardt said on Mets Hot Stove that Alou was being considered for the team’s first base coach, a postion that had been previously linked to Mookie Wilson. Yesterday, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York said Triple-a manager Ken Oberkfell is likely to be the Mets next bench coach, according to an organizational source. The team interviewed Don Long, Andy Van Slyke, and Dave Hudgens for hitting coach earlier this week.
