About two weeks ago Adam Rubin reported that the Royals had interest in Angel Pagan and were looking to dump Jose Guillen ( here) , connecting the dots he speculated on the teams having a possible match. That's rumor/speculation caused quite a fire storm but it wasn't the only time Pagan's name came up, about a week later Ken Rosenthal reported that teams were interested is Pagan as a starting center fielder ( here). Today, from the Royals side it seems they're confirming Rubin's original report that the Royals are interested in Pagan...The current roster effectively offers a choice between Mitch Maier and Josh Anderson as next year’s starting center fielder. So, yes, the Royals are looking to upgrade.Rumors point to interest in free-agent Scott Podsednik, who batted .304 last season with the White Sox, and Mets backup Angel Pagan, who filled in capably last season for an injured Carlos Beltran.
