The Mets had a press conference scheduled for 4pm today, I assumed that they would announce, that Carlos Delgado would be placed on the disabled list.However, Omar Minaya basically said that the Mets would do exactly what they have been doing for the last three days. The Mets will keep Delgado on the active roster, despite being unavailable and hope his hip responds to treatment. Minaya stated that they would wait until at least Sunday, before making any further decisions. If Delgado starts Monday, he will have missed seven games and it makes absolutely no sense, for the team to play short handed for that long. Delgado should be placed on the disabled list, not only would that allow the team to call up another player but it would also allow his hip, time to recover.
