Freudian slip? No joke.

CSN Chicago’s Susannah Collins had an unfortunate on-screen slip-up Tuesday night while reporting about the Blackhawks. Collins, channeling the fervor of the Stanley Cup playoffs beginning, jumped into her inside scoop on the hometown team — and then uttered a phrase that hockey fans likely found far more interesting.

Collins was trying to explain that the Blackhawks are treating the playoffs as a whole new season, leaving behind their points streak and 36-7-5 record. Her lead-in, however, suggested that the Hawks have been doing more than playing hockey this season.

“Despite the fact that they’ve had such a tremendous amount of sex during the regular season,” Collins began.

Like a pro, she realized her mistake and went back and said “success” instead, but the damage was done.

Collins’ mistake will live on, as she’s chosen a profession that broadcasts every tongue-tie to the world (as opposed to this medium, where the backspace key can quickly take care of any ill-formed jokes that this situation so easily offers). Kudos to her for being a champ and staying on the job, and here’s hoping for better — spell it now, s-u-c-c-e-s-s — in the next round.

Manny Machado Isn’t Bad for 20 Years Old Either

Contrary to popular belief there are two 20 year old studs playing in the DMV. I will start this article off by saying this is not a compare and contrast between Manny Machado and Bryce Harper. Harper is a stone cold stud and what he is doing to live up to expectations none of us know anything about is pretty incredible. Harper is the best player on his team at 20 years old. That...

Washington Nationals outfielder and reigning NL Rookie of the Year Bryce Harper has given Washington fans a scare after leaving last night's 2-0 victory over the Atlanta Braves, with what apparently looked like an oblique injury, but in fact was a result of a play Harper tried to make on Tuesday night, says James Wagner of the Washington Post. Bryce Harper Has Ball Bounce Off Glove, Giving Tim Hudson First Home Run of Season (Video)

Bryce Harper should be credited with an assist on Tim Hudson‘s home run Tuesday night.  In the fifth inning of the Nationals-Braves game, Harper nearly made a highlight-reel catch on a fly ball off the bat of Atlanta’s starting pitcher. But instead of hauling it in, the ball bounced off the young outfielder’s glove and over the right-field fence.  It’s embarrassing enough...

Bryce Harper wants Washington Nationals fans to keep ‘The Wave’ going

Some Washington Nationals fans want to see "The Wave" abolished, but star outfielder Bryce Harper says not so fast.

Bryce Harper has ball go off glove, gives Tim Hudson a home run (Video)

Your browser does not support iframes. Atlanta Braves pitcher Tim Hudson has only three home runs in his career, and his most recent big fly may not have made its way into the stands without a little help from Washington Nationals star Bryce Harper. During the bottom of the fifth inning on Tuesday night, the 37-year-old Hudson proved that he still has the strength to send a ball...

Washington right fielder Bryce Harper went back on the ball, leapt up to make the catch, and inadvertently knocked it over the fence, giving Hudson his first home run of the season and the third of his career. Hudson's homer pushed Atlanta's...

Bo Jackson, a Will Clark Fight, and a few other sweet baseball videos

I love baseball but watch games very infrequently. I’m more of a fantasy baseball, watch Baseball Tonight and MLB Network highlights, stat nerd type of fan (which could stem from me rooting for the Pirates). Zimmermann Dominates, Harper Leaves Early With Injury, Nats Break Losing Streak Against Braves

The Nationals have had a rough go of it against the Braves going back to September last season. Jordan Zimmermann has quickly emerged as the Nationals...
