Given his successes on the mound for both the Oakland A's and San Francisco Giants, you'd expect Californians to know who Barry Zito is, right?

Well, after listening to Good Day L.A. host Steve Edwards introduce the former Cy Young Award winner before a recent show appearance...your expectations would be on point.

Then, naturally, the pitcher showed up and, well...the longtime host forgot everything he said three minutes prior when he insinuated that he knew practically everything there is to know Barry Zito. Then, when the host began asking the musician, Kelley James, the baseball questions, Zito just sat there.

The fun begins at about the three-minute mark.

TV show host has no idea who Barry Zito is

Barry Zito has been pitching in California for twelve years now and helped the San Francisco Giants win the World Series last season, so one would think that all Californians would know Barry Zito. Well apparently that is not that case. The former Cy Young-winning was on Good Day L.A. to promote “A Night For The Troops,” a concert with musician Kelley James which was to benefit...

Check out this embarrassing video of Good Day L.A.'s Steve Edwards who thinks San Francisco Giants pitcher Barry Zito is musician Kelley James. SF Giants Rumors: Hunter Pence Wants To Stay In San Francisco Long Term

Outfielder Hunter Pence is looking to rebound in 2013, says John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle. He’s been working with a personal trainer to help him be quicker on the field, and he wants to be looser at the plate. He’s definitely not satisfied with how he’s performed with the San Francisco Giants. Pence hit .219 with the Giants during the regular season, and .210 in...

It’s been reported that Romo is seeking $4.5 million, and the...

Barry Zito Trolls Manti Te’o With A Song On The Adam Carolla Show (video)

I was always taught that sometimes in life especially when things get tough you should be able to laugh at yourself or your circumstances. Manti Te’o will be the butt of jokes for a long time coming over his catfish situation, but hopefully he’ll become a great pro and we can all have a laugh. Today everyone is having a laugh.  Yesterday on the Adam Corolla Show, San Francisco...

California TV host has no clue who Barry Zito is

Barry Zito has pitched for both the Oakland Athletics and San Francisco Giants for the last twelve seasons. Still there are people in the area who are not familiar with the former Cy Young winner. Giants reach 1-year deal with Arias

Infielder Joaquin Arias has agreed to a $925,000, one-year contract with the San Francisco Giants to avoid salary arbitration. The deal reached Friday leaves reliever Sergio Romo as the only Giants arbitration-eligible player left to sign. Player Profile #129: Tim Lincecum | SP | SF

A dominant playoff performance out of San Francisco’s bullpen en route to a World Championship might have saved Tim Linceum‘s fantasy value. Still, that one month doesn’t forgive the other six in which Lincecum tortured fantasy owners. For the third straight year his walk rate rose, and for the second straight year his ground ball rate declined. Lincecum’s 14.0% HR/FB rate...

Giants, Posey not rushing new deal

Good luck to the San Francisco Giants trying to figure out what catcher Buster Posey is worth long term. It's not a stretch to imagine Posey replacing Derek Jeter as the game's standard-bearer. Heck, the 25-year-old Posey already is more accomplished than Jeter at a comparable stage of his career, despite appearing in only 308 regular-season games. Both players won Rookie...
